On Saturday November 2, 2019 the Squash Alberta AGM and elections took place to determine the Board of Directors for the current season. As such, we welcome two new members to the Board: Alvin Thomas (Edmonton) - as President and Anna Plato (Calgary) as Executive Officer.
We extend a sincere thank you to Grant Currie for his tireless work as a board member for many years as a Regional Rep, Executive Officer, President and Past President. Although his term as Past President has ended, Grant will continue to help Squash Alberta as a member of our Officiating Committee and as our Donations Coordinator. Grant's contributions to Squash Alberta and Squash Canada over the past 30+ years are very much appreciated and have helped to lay and strong foundation on which we can build upon and continue to move forward.
We also extend a sincere thank you to Jack Dale who becomes our Past President and will continue to serve as a non-voting member on the board in an advisory role. Jack has worked hard over the past 2 years to improve our relationships within the squash community across Canada and within Alberta. His efforts on these fronts make it much easier for Squash Alberta to move forward in a positive direction in the months and years to come. Jack is very active in our Officiating Program and plans to continue to help us in our Officiaiting Initiative as both a course facilitator and assessor/mentor.
